695 million of the 2.5 billion people across the world who lack access to improved sanitation live in Sub-Saharan Africa. Some 400 million people in Sub Sahara Africa lack access to a basic drinking water service. The combined impact of these factors is devastating to people’s health.READ MORE
Do we ever scrutinize the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation or do we just take it for granted? If you could put a value on having constant access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation, how much would it be? Since the average household uses up to 190 liter of fresh water a day per person, we can all relate and value this good. And those 190 liters are related only to the direct consume of fresh water by showering, washing, etc. The indirect water consumption is much higher. For example, the production of 1 kg of beef requires 15,500 liters of fresh water because most animals are fed with soya, which consumes a lot of water for cultivation.
We at Capco are committed to individually track our water consumption over to following weeks in order to be able to value this good. We believe that only if you truly understand the impact of not having a sustainable management of water and sanitation, you can value it. Join us, let’s find out how much you value constant access to safe drinking water and donate the amount to help the 400 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa (2 out of 5 people), who lack access to basic drinking water services.
Capco actively supports AMREF’s project to build a new water supply well and restore existing wells and thus, expand access to sustainable WASH services throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, what about you?
Thank you for contributing to the reduction in mortality and morbidity from water-borne diseases in Sub-Saharan Africa - every donation counts!
