WIRklettern

With a wealth of experience, dedication, and empathy, ManK offers climbing courses for all climbing enthusiasts, regardless of the physical or mental condition they bring with them when entering a climbing gym. In doing so, we set pioneering impulses and open up new perspectives in the sport of climbing.

Collaboration between ManK and the WIRklettern Support Association

Under the banner of ManK – Mehr als nur Klettern (More than just climbing), I live inclusive and socially impactful work every day through direct contact with children, teenagers, and adults. ManK was founded in 2016 at the PILATUS INDOOR climbing gym in Root and has evolved through numerous, diverse, and inclusive climbing programs. Since the summer of 2024, I have been running this venture independently. Because the legal form of a GmbH (limited liability company) severely restricts access to public funding and grants, I co-founded the support association WIRklettern in November 2025 together with Andrea Steinmann (a wheelchair user) to secure the structural and financial foundation of this work for the long term.

With WIRklettern, my clear intention is to provide people with disabilities with reliable and equal access to the sport of climbing, and to permanently eliminate the financial uncertainty surrounding paraclimbing activities. The association's structure makes it easier to apply for
grants, ensures sustainable funding, and creates room for the strategic development of projects.

However, WIRklettern stands for more than just funding: people with disabilities should not merely be participants, but active co-creators – with audible voices that confidently bring in their perspectives, ideas, and concerns, actively shaping the further development of our programs.
