Brooklyn Autism Center

BAC provides students and their families with a comprehensive, scientifically validated academic and behavioral education that's designed to foster individual growth and progress. We are a unique school and one of very few that provide 1:1 individualized high quality, effective education for children who need more support than what is available in a typical school. Instruction includes language development to provide our students the tools to engage with the environment in a meaningful and natural manner. Play skills, academics, self-care, independence, and self-monitoring are also taught in order to provide our students with a well-rounded educational experience. We continually strive to provide a variety of experiences for our students. We offer our students frequent opportunities for extra-curricular activities and experiences that increase physical fitness, improve socialization, build self-esteem, introduce them to new experiences, and motivate them to succeed. Additionally, we feel strongly that teaching in school must be generalized to the home and community so we work very closely with our families to ensure our efforts are transitioned and integrated outside of school, There is a high cost to run such a specialized school where each student’s programming is individualized to serve their particular needs.
