Cancer is the number 1 cause of death by disease in children – responsible for more deaths than all other diseases combined. Over 43 children a day are diagnosed with cancer, yet only 4% of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) is dedicated to pediatric cancers. Much of the research funding in pediatric cancer relies heavily on charitable foundations. This funding is vital to saving the lives of children dying of cancer.
